PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE (PAC)

North Island Secondary School and PAC participate through consultation on a regular basis to share ideas to benefit students at NISS.

PAC is always looking for parents to share in this process.

If you are interested in attending PAC meetings or would like to talk to PAC members about concerns, please contact Sandy Walton at (250) 902-9721.

The next PAC meeting is on March 4, 2015 @ 4:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons at NISS.

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS

NISS students benefit from our breakfast program offered each morning and Soup Days on fridays.

We are able to offer these services to students through grants, and local donations.

We are very short of volunteers in this area and could use help.  If you are able to donate some time to assist, it would be greatly appreciated.

Contact Ms. Sweeney at 250-956-3394 for more information.

THOUGHTSTREAM

Hello from North Island Secondary School,

We want to gain a better understanding of what our school is doing well, and what we might be missing. To do this we need your help and input!

We have enlisted the online tool Thoughtexchange to facilitate a 3 Step process for us. For Step 1 and 2, you will be invited to provide your feedback via a link sent by email from me on February 23rd. This process can be completed on any computer or mobile device, and will not require a login or password. If you (or someone you know) do not receive our emails, please register for this process at: http://sd85.thoughtexchange.info/niss-engagement

Step One – Share
On February 23rd, you will receive an email inviting you to share your thoughts on four questions about our school. You will have until March 4th to complete this process.

Step Two – Star
On March 11th, you will receive an email inviting you to star (prioritize) all the thoughts that were shared Step One. You will have until March 20th to complete this process.

You will receive reminder emails from Thoughtexchange encouraging you to participate. Once you complete the process, you will not receive any further reminders.

Through both steps of the process, your responses will be forwarded to the Thoughtexchange system for collating and analysis. Your responses will remain confidential. Step 3 – Discover is when we will communicate back the prioritized thoughts we have heard.

We value your input and your time spent in this process will be very much appreciated!

Sincerely,

Jay Dixon
Principal
